Long time, no see, eh?

I've opened up the site again for the purposes of archiving. Feel free to take a walk through the Chris Merrit museum we've got here.

Or, of course, you could always find out what he's up to right now.

Time for another Saturday update!

Roland's gone out earlier this week and purchased a printer specifically to burn CDs to sell at shows. From what I gather, they've got 'Charity,' 'Geronimo,' and 'Orangutan Face' on them and they're selling like hotcakes at $3 a pop.
As of yet, they're only available at shows - of which there is only one scheduled in the near future.
Better make sure you're there. With a fresh wad of one dollar bills, too.

Wow. Another week and another sadly news-empty update.

Not much going on on the Upperville front. There is a show coming up this weekend and the guys are still recording a couple of new songs. There's also talk of selling CDs in the near future. Now wouldn't that be grand?

As I am currently in Boston, due to family issues, I don't have all of the appropriate Upperville researching tools at my disposal. However, I can tell you that, if you use Last.FM, please feel free to join the Upperville Last.FM group that I started recently.

More, later!

So you logged onto the internet for the first time all week on Saturday just to get your Paperface Upperville fix at Machine Piano when you noticed that I, the worst webmaster in the world, hadn't bothered to post anything during my agreed-upon update schedule for Saturdays.

Maybe your heart broke as you realized that you were going to have to venture over to the Upperville MySpace page on your own. Maybe you saw that they've got a new picture posted and full band recordings available for you to listen to. Maybe you enjoyed these new versions of 'Orangutan Face,' 'Charity,' and 'Geronimo.'

Well, I'm sorry for that. Indeed, I am the worst webmaster in the world. And to think that my only excuse was that I was so busy trying to redesign the site that I forgot to do the update at the time.

No worries, everything will be bright and new soon enough, kiddies.

Last night's show only saw the introduction of one new song. Chris said the title of it was 'Beowulf' and that it was about, obviously, that old Scandinavian tale that we all read about in English class in high school.
Needless to say it sounded awesome.

If you happened to miss out on the new song, don't worry, the guys just added another show in Fullerton for Friday night. They'll be playing at the Alley and I've been told that they'll be there in all their ancient Viking glory.
The new date (and a couple I'd forgotten) was added to the 'tour dates' section earlier today.

I promise, new site coming soon.

The guys are playing at the Prospector in Long Beach, tonight. More information on the 'tour dates' section.

And I've been told that there is a serious possibility of them unveiling two new songs in their set tonight, so BE THERE.

Also, Chris tells me that they've been pumping out about a song a week regarding recording and that 'Charity' will soon be available (along with 'Geronimo') in a matter of days.

More shows posted to the tour dates section. From what I gather, the boys have a couple of new songs in the works for the live set. You want to hear these new songs? Then show up at the concerts, B.

Also, the final recording and mixing for 'Geronimo' is so close to being finished that Chris won't stop talking about it. So keep an eye on their MySpace page in case they post it before I get a chance to announce it here.

Due to technical difficulties, I've somehow managed to lose all of the old news items. Ain't that grand? It's karma for having not posted anything yesterday as well as for having not updated the site appropriately.
You'd think I'd learn my lesson, no?

Well, the guys are booking some new shows in the future but are on a week-or-so break from playing any shows in order to try to get some new material ready for a live set.

That's all I know directly of what's going on. Roland is working diligently on an official website for them - I'll let you know when that goes through.
